I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, but on the ANH iso chapters and fast forwarding does not work. I have all 82 parts of version 2.7 for BD50 and the md5 file and I tried decompressing them with unarchiver on Mac and had issues with chapters and fast forwarding where the sound would play but the image would not. I tried decompressing the files on Windows with 7zip to see if I would get the same results and I did. Can someone help me figure out what is going on?

What are you using to play it back?

Hi guys and gals,

Trying to open the NJVC OOT BR MLs but the .rar is saying I have the incorrect password. Has it been updated?

Thanks

Author

No, it’s the same. Are you sure you’re using the correct password?

Look at Step 6 of the first post of this thread.

It says the following:

Download and extract the file with the password “_______”

The 31 characters between the quotation marks are what you want to use.

Hey all, this is incredible with the amount of detail is on here, thanks so much OP!

I am having issues with a little under half the files not being able to download using FreeRapid Downloader. I keep getting errors and timeouts for certain files before I can even start to download each. I’ve tried during the day, at night and at totally random times. This is only for Star Wars and ESB thus far, and happens on both movie discs and both doc discs. Thoughts on these issues? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi steebo! Welcome to the forum!

Are you trying to download more than 10 rars at a time? If so, you are probably running into data caps.

Take a look at this line from from step 7 of the first post:

All these links are in free accounts, which have a 5 Gig transfer limit. That means you’ll probably only be able to download a maximum of 10 rar files before getting a messages telling you to wait several hours before continuing to download.

And this line from step 8:

But you will still likely be limited to 10 rar files every six hours or so.

When you use Free Rapid Downloader or any other download manager, it will give you an error message if you try to download more than 5 gigs (ie 10 rars) within about a 6 to 8 hour period.

The best practice is to load only 10 links at a time into FRD, let it finish, then leave it be until much later in the day, then download another 10. This was the method I used when downloading the DVD5 versions of Harmy’s Star Wars 2.5 and Empire Strikes Back 2.0, since they are stored on mega. On days off, I’d start a batch first thing in the morning, start another batch in the early afternoon, and a third right before I went to bed.

And I never had any major issues. It’s tedious, but it works! 😃

I read that, but must’ve misunderstood it. Appreciated and will try that, thanks!

I’m still having trouble with playback on the iso. Anyone have any idea why chapters don’t work?

To be honest, it turns out I actually have the same problem with the the burned discs and ISOs when playing on Leawo, even though I didn’t think so before. Everything works fine unless you try to skip to a different part of a title, using the slider, navigation buttons, or chapter menu. Then the image freezes as the sound continues.

Perhaps its a glitch in the ISOs themselves? 😦

In which case, it would be a pretty major bummer, but I’m still going to look on the bright side that these sets even exist at all.

Ok. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t the only one having that problem. Like you said it’s a bit of a bummer but overall it’s still an AMAZING set!

I’m getting this error while extracting the ESB Documentaries:

“Could not extract the file “The Empire Strikes Back - Documentaries BD25.iso” from the archive “The Empire Strikes Back - Documentaries BD25.part13.rar”: Failed to write to file”

I’ve redownloaded part 13 and get the same error. Had no other issues so far.

Anyone else getting this?

Thanks!

I’m getting the exact same error except it is Part47 on Star Wars and Part29 on Star Wars Documentaries. I’ve downloaded the files twice without it working. I’ve already done ESB (both discs) which tested fine and am downloading RotJ (both discs) now.

Any thoughts on the two Star Wars errors?

Have you tried extracting with a different program? There are several free ones you can try.

Sometimes one will work better than another.

If that doesn’t work, you could see if there is anything amiss with your file copies.

The best way to do that is to verify the checksums of the file. See how to do that in Windows here or on a Mac here

It basically generates an ID number that will be drastically different if any part of the file is different, say from a download glitch or a disc error.

I can send you what the numbers for the checksums for SW part 47 & SW Docs part 29 should be.

If you perform a checksum varification on the files you have and the numbers I send you don’t match exactly what you get when you run the check on your file copies, we’ll know you have corrupted copies and take further steps to correct that problem.

Let me know if you want me to send you the checksums, or if trying a different extractor fixes it.

Really appreciate the help! I tried a different program and still the same issue. I tried downloading the files two more times and are still getting the same issues. Mind sending me the checksum info and I can compare? Thanks again!

0K, since I sent the checksums and yours don’t match, that tells me that something is going wrong in the process of getting them saved.

What are the the methods that you’ve tried thus far for downloading and saving those files?

Since it is only two files that are giving you issues, you might also try just manually downloading them straight from your browser. It wouldn’t cost that much more time for only two rars, and it would eliminate the variable of the download manager.

Whatever you choose to try next, make sure to put the new copies of the rars in the same folder as their respective sets.

And you can use the same checksums I sent you to verify that the files have saved properly.

Edit: Missed that you had already tried manual downloading.

Yes, I did try the manually/direct download for these as well to no avail.

Also tried Jdownloader, tried compiling on a Win laptop, Win PC and my MacBook Pro. All the same results of those files having issues. I’m st my wits end as the ESB, ESB Docs, ROTJ and ROTJ Docs all compiled, burned and play fine.

Try finding a torrent for the SW bd 50s.

That is an option, but many people, like myself, do not use torrents.

Steebo, I’m going to to send you another pm later today. I have another idea to try.
