I would avoid France too. I've heard they're the rudest people in Europe.

England is not part of Europe IMO. We are an Island.

I was in the American midwest for a while, North Dakota to be exact, and I was round somebody's house and they offered me a slice of pizza, saying 'You guys like pizza over there in France, right?'. To which I replied 'Well, I think you are thinking of Italy, but either way, I'm from England'. The guy just couldn't understand that Europe is made up of loads of vastly different countries and isn't just one big mass of land called 'Europe'. The final straw was when he replied 'well, Englad, France, whatever, it's all the same'. I wanted to hit his ignorant ass. That's like saying 'Canada, USA, whatever'. I was also told I spoke good English for a foreigner.
Of course, I know none of you guys are that ignorant, but the point is England may be close, but 25 miles of water is enough to seperate us from Europe not only by distance but also by attitude, opinion and culture.
So, in order to keep on topic: Things I hate: Ignorance, People who lump England and France together, and North Dakota.

dont worry about it, thas just america, swear some of those people in the south are just too much. I originally from vancouver island, and i remember an american once thought that the island was likea day trip thing. they thought victoria the capital of the province a city of 350 000 was a small town that could be covered in one day. they thought the entire island was a garden. they also thought that is was snowing here and that it would be too cold to go to the beach, in the middle of JUNE. this was an educated person to that goes to college and everything. the other thing about this person was they are planing to come here, like this summer, you'd think you would learn a little about the place before you go.

for those that dont know, vancouver island is pretty big it takes like 10 hrs to drive from victoria to port hardy thats from the southern tip to the northern tip.

HaHaHa, some people. The thing is, I am from London, a city of 6 million, I have travelled all over the world, and these North Dakota folk thought I was some wierd foreigner from some little backwards province called 'En-Ger'Land'.
Anyway guys, I highly recommend you visit Europe, any travelling opens your mind to so many things, it's great. What Shimraa said about it making you a better person is so true.
P.S Glad to hear that you guys actually know what the world cup is!!! Most Americans I have spoken to didn't even know the US had a football team (and one that done quite well in the last world cup may I add).
P.P.S Be sure to call it football and not 'Soccer' if you come to England. Everyone will laugh at you.

The same people that would probably hate Casablanca or The Big Sleep because "Aw, I don't like black and white movies."

I hate those kind of people, that don't give a movie a chance because its black and white and have never seen classic films but will flock to crap like Titanic and say "Oh, its among the hollywood classics."

So true! I had the original Twelve Angry Men on last night, and when my wife saw it she just kind of rolled her eyes. Then when I gave her the remote she turned on the latest reality show. It's like...Get a clue!!

It's kind of like when people lump all southerners into the low IQ group. Or when all conservatives are likened to facists. I hate generalization.

Well, be glad you don't live in south america, we are one HUGE dumb steriotype. People tend to think we are all spanish-speaking indians who either live in jungles or on the beach doing carnaval all day long. Sometimes the misinformation gets really bizarre, like one day there was a brazillian news reporter on an american prison, and he was talking to the prisoners and some of them thought Brazil was in middle east. Some years ago there were americans who came to São Paulo, probably the 4th or 5th biggest city in the world, #3 or 4 in population, dressed with this weird jungle-like clothes, with nets and stuff, thinking they would come to a jungle or something... No, the capital of Brazil is NOT rio de janeiro (it's brasilia), and NEVER, EVER say the capital of Brazil is "Buenos Aires" (as Ronald Reagan said multiple times), you WILL get you ass kicked if you say that over here, that's one of the most offensive things you could say.

And yes for Christ sake don't call football "soccer" outside america or you will be ridiculed.

Hey Yoda: Do you remember the game brazil x england on 2002 world cup?
Swear to God that was the best football match ever.

HaHa. Yeah, for you maybe... Because of the Japan/England time difference I was up at 7am watching a football match, and for some reason I reallly thought we could beat Brazil (having just beaten Argentina) but no, it wasn't to be.

Well, it was 4 am here. Although at that time I had to regularly wake up at 5 am, so it was no big deal.

But England's gonna kick Brazil's ass next year at the world cup, so don't worry. I'd really like to see both teams playing again.

Soccer/Futbol are way overrated.

I understand how popular it is elsewhere, but I just can't get into it. Seems like everytime it's on they play for 4 hours to a scoreless tie. Not my cup of tea. The only time I get into soccer is at my daughter's games, but they score almost everytime they run down field.

Most "Sports" are overrated, but lets not get into *that.*

No no no. You meant "overpaid".
