If somebody acted that way with me I would also want you to deck them for me.

Don’t you hate it when you get a PDF where you can’t select the text?
All the time.
“Get over violence, madness and death? What else is there?”
Also known as Mr. Liquid Jungle.
What kind of computer are you using that doesn’t let you select text on a pdf?
Some PDFs are scanned and don’t have correct OCR.
Are you doing college reading assigments?
The Person in Question
No.
Then why else would you be reading scanned pdfs and be bothered that you can’t select the text on them?
The Person in Question
how is that something that only college students do?

not as much as when a website tries to do the same.
how is that something that only college students do?
Well then what are you using them for?
I can think of no other reason why someone would be reading scanned pdfs and irritated by their inability to select text.

i have all my college students writing click-bait articles about star wars and i am just raking in the advertising money.

fair enough. I can think of a few

fair enough. I can think of a few
- education level other than college
- scientific research
- non-scientific research
- technical research
These are all academic reasons that are close enough to my speculation.
- reading those books that google scanned (i don’t think they are OCR’d but maybe i am wrong)
Perhaps for a college assignment? Why else would you need to select the text?
- reading a page you scanned yourself, or that someone else scanned.
Like for a college assignment.

lol.
if this was for a college assignment, i would give you half a credit for trying to bring your original argument home.
Maybe yhwx has a ‘thing’ where he just likes to select text while reading… (FOR A COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT)
Who said the PDFs are academic texts? They could be almost anything.

I use a pdf to track how much I hate all of you.

You just moved to the top of the list.
…
Or the bottom. I can’t remember how I sorted it.

Aw you just moved to the opposite end of the list.
The real question is not if it is scanned but whether or not you can select the text after it was scanned.

Of course. Unlike yhwx I only use pdfs of the highest quality.
