I guess what Mala is saying is that in-universe there is no explicit sexism. Nobody judges or expects anything different from a woman simply because she’s a woman. We see women occupying the same position as men, and higher positions several times.
However, off-screen is pretty clear that something isn’t right when out of 100 characters in the OT literally 3 are women. I don’t think that’s something defendable.
