pointless sub plots
There aren’t any of those.
To each his own but maybe pointless was the wrong word but subplots like the phasma/finn story, finn/rose story including canto bight, crait, love triangle stuff, tension/story between holdo/poe, hux sucking up to snoke/trying to one up kylo all the time would be minimised etc to keep the dark/suspenseful tone im hoping for. Things like that, that don’t really add to the story of this edit but might have in the individual films for some people but regardless, some of these points for me atleast seemed a waste of time that could’ve been used in different/new scenes to add more depth to the last jedi. For me the last jedi last a good opportunity to really explore jedi lore/luke’s time on ahch-to with the jedi school, kylo turning etc. They had the flashbacks with luke and kylo but they were minimal. A longer look at luke training to about to kill kylo to knights of ren destroying the place wouldve been amazing but JJ might include those in ep9 but for the next 2 years this edit could be good for the time being and once ep9 drops and how that story is, i might add on ep9 in a super cut of this edit.
