‘Scuse me a second, I just need to vent.
Working with FCP7 has become a nightmare. I have many nested sequences which evidently wreak havoc. I can barely launch the app and open the project files for these things. I save compulsively, and have managed to get Ep1 ready for output aside from waiting for the crawl.
I’ve tried copying only what is needed from the project files into new ones, but that isn’t any help since the things I need are exactly the culprit: heavily nested sequences. I had a few hours today but I wasn’t able to accomplish anything because it crashed 90% of the time I tried to open up the project.
Once I get the right moonlight, I can accomplish a few things, so I’m willing to put up with this in order to output this final version, wait a short while to make sure no glaring errors made it past me, and then use the Force to burn it down. The actual work to be done is fairly simple, but enormously frustrating. I don’t know, it’s like trying to put together a bicycle from a kit while the house is burning down. Or yelling at a rock to get it to sing.
Be patient; this may not get done before I need to be away from it for a considerable time, but it’ll get done when it can. My goal is to at least have everything configured for output before then, even if I’m waiting for crawls and other stuff. (I need to manually recreate all the visuals for Ep2 the way I did for 1 and 3 already, which is okay but time consuming, provided the app will cooperate.)
