I know, the point I am trying to make is that he has the exact plot enabling role as Rose (see Dom’s posts). Ok not exact, as Rose probably has even more plot enablement.

So considering that a tie between Rose and Lando, I will use my personal preference to pick Rose as more interesting. Less cool probably though, I am sure most of us thought Lando was a pretty hep cat. (Am I saying that right?)

People are mad that she stopped Finn from having a super bad ass self sacrifice hero moment like Randy Quaid in Independence Day.

The point, of course, being that kind of thing is stupid.

Also, about Rose being working class, she isn’t just working class. She’s the person behind the scenes who does the dirty work while the heroes do the hero stuff. And her class status is important because she is the only character who (at least explicitly) was oppressed by the First Order (well Finn was too of course but in a totally different way).

Let’s not go down the path of saying those who don’t like Rose are stupid, Dom…

You’re the only one. Rose is the worst Star Wars character ever. Yes…even worse than Jar Jar. At least he has good theories about him being a Sith Lord. Rose served zero purpose the entire movienother than trying to save her crush’s life while sacrificing the entire universe to the FO.

Honestly I don’t remember much about that movie except Randy Quaid was a drunk and Data was a dead scientist and the alien’s ship ran on Windows 95.

According to the sequel Data didn’t actually die, he was in a coma or something.

To stay a little more on topic, I thought Rose was alright - not the best character, but not the worst either. Hopefully she does more in the next movie.
