Sorry about that, addressed via PM.

Hi Solkap, I, too, can’t get part01 of the ROTJ MKV; FreeRapidDownloader keeps showing that one part as an error when it tries to retrieve it from uloz and I’d love a PM about an alternate way to get that file; thank you!

Additionally, I hope someone can help me here in getting me a full set of files for ESB and ROTJ (MKV preferably) that validate the checksum when trying to extract. I have an extremely stable connection and I’m very familar with multipart rars and downloaders (I go back to when usenet was about the only way to get things and everything there is multipart rars). All of the rar parts pull down at the same byte size (524,288,000 which is 500MB; Uloz shows as 524MB because they are counting 1 million bytes as a MB, like hard drive manufacturers) but when testing or extracting with winRAR or 7-Zip the three multipart sets I’ve tried all fail CRC checks.

If I ignore the errors and extract anyway, the MD5 of the extracted ESB MKV is not the 1E34…FCE value it is supposed to be. I tried to pull down the files it said were bad and then it said different files are corrupt. After doing this for 12 files (and that took forever with the slow Uloz speeds), I decided to see what happens if I just run multiple tests in a row on the multipart set.

Each time I run the test, WinRAR reports different files have checksum errors. Check out 4 consecutive runs of the tests (I shortened the file names of the parts for the forum here) on the same fileset; no changes between each test.

part01.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt
part04.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt

part08.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt
part34.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt

part07.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt
part35.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt

part09.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt
part24.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt
part39.rar: Packed data checksum error in ESB v2.0...mkv. The volume is corrupt

All of them are the exact same size stated above and match what I’ve seen other people indicate their files are.

There’s no list of the MD5 for each rar part that I could find, so I’m not sure which files really are broken.

I’ve had this same experience now with the MKV of ESB, the AVCHD of ESB, and the AVCHD of ROTJ. I assume if I get part01 of the MKV for ROTJ I’d have the same problem with that.

Does anyone have any par2 (http://www.quickpar.org.uk/) file sets for the MKVs or would be able to make a good sized set and put them on mega / anywhere else and send me a PM with the link? It’d make it a lot easier to download a par2 repair set as opposed to burning up tons of my monthly download cap trying to get the files from uloz over and over again.

I am using the password directly listed on the “Multipart RAR Download Links” page, last updated by HanDuet on 12-17-2017. I tried typing it, pasting it, copying it to a notepad and pasting it. None of that helped.

I’m trying to show my kids the original trilogy for their first time I don’t want to watch the special editions for that. I have Harmy’s ANH 2.5 and going from that to my old trilogy VHS tapes for ESB is a huge drop in awesomeness; VHS copies do not make for a great viewing experience these days 😉

After this is resolved, I’d like to grab the custom blu-ray Solkap so kindly is providing access to, but I want to make use of the 50GB of data I’ve already downloaded first…

Thanks for any and all help!

Hi Harmy,

I’m terribly sorry I didn’t mention it, but the version I was having trouble with was the MKV, and didn’t make it clear in my first post. so part01 of the MKV of ROTJ.

Thanks for all your work.

Hi Spacecow,

I’ll send you the alternate link to ROTJ MKV part 1 in a PM

As far as the rest, I’m not sure why it’s giving you issues.

I assume you’re using the links to downloads provided here:

Since you understand how to do checksum verifications, perhaps this page will help you isolate if there are particular files that are causing the problem:

Hello,

I also used this links to download ROTJ MKV (41 parts, uloz.to).

When I try to unpack the files, WinRar says that part02 is corrupted.

I tried WinRar and 7-Zip and of course i tried to redownload part02.

Could you reupload it for me please? Thanks!

I’ve downloaded all the ISO’s of these but my copy of ROTJ is corrupt and only downloaded about 7MB 😦

…and now I cannot get onto Demonoid 😦 Does anyone know where I can download the ISO of ROTJ?

Would really appreciate any help

Hi SteveE,

If you are looking for the NJVC ISOs, this is the wrong thread. Go here instead.

If you are having trouble with ROTJ 2.5, it isn’t in ISO form. There are MKV, AVCHD, and NTSC DVD5 versions.

In that case, you need to follow this guide for the procedure and go to this guide for the relevant links. It won’t be as fast as using torrents, but the file integrity will be much more reliable.

Can’t help with the Demonoid issue.

If it’s some old torrent from demonoid, he may have been talking about RotJ 1.0, which was only available in avchd iso form.

I know this really isn’t the place for this, but I was just reading TheDigitalBits’ review of Blade Runner 2049’s UHD BR, and…

Harmy, you worked on 2049?!?! Did anyone else know about this?!

[Editor’s Note: Our friend Petr “Harmy” Harmáček, who some of you may know for his fine Star Wars Despecialized efforts, worked on the visual effects for Blade Runner 2049 at UPP in Europe and confirmed to us that they were done in full native 4K resolution. Chris McLaughlin, CG supervisor at the project’s VFX lead Double Negative, says they delivered their VFX at 3.4K.]

Holy shit.

That’s awesome! Loved the film and will pick up the UHD sometime soon. Especially glad that it’s not an upscale job. 😃

Awesome Harmy! So when you’re not performing your duties do they keep you in a little box? Cells.

I saw that yesterday. Our little Harmy is all grown up!

In all seriousness, congrats Harmy!

I seem to remember Harmy has mentioned some “big projects” that kept him busy when impatient chatter about ESB 2.5 would start up again.

But Bladerunner 2049?

And Wonder Woman too?

The man is too humble!

Kudos dude!

This is absolutely brilliant - thank you ever so much for your help 😃

When downloading ANH and TESB though, I did download ISO’s of the film, special features…everything. But from what you are saying I’m better off downloading the MKV? What do you mean by a more reliable file integrity?
