So in anticipation of this release I bought the VCD set of the Special Editions, if anyone wants me to take scans of the disc art for this release I can if anyone wants to make something out of them for this.

I’m propably going to use just a CD case instead of a BD case so your scans would be helpful.

I found mine at a Goodwill for like 15$. I was actually there to pick up a new VCR/DVD player seeing as how mine died and I stumbled across it in their pile of VHS tapes. The outer box is heavily damaged. It looks like someones kid or dog chewed it up.

Okay, let me dig them up. I’ll try to get them up tonight. If not tonight, I’ll do it on Sunday. I’ll PM you when I get it done.

Poita, I heard that temps were so hot in your country that bats shaped like foxes are dying in mid flight! Watch your head down there!

We had been waiting for the scanner to be adjusted to fix the focus problem. That has now been completed and scanning will begin again this week.
In Australia the kids get six weeks of school holidays for our summer, so end of December and all of January. I’m the primary carer so I’m pretty much snowed looking after the four kids, scanning should be completed within 2 weeks, still need to find the money to get the last reel done.

Will be posting more regular updates once school holidays are over, and hopefully temperatures drop under 40C/104F. It got up to 47C/116.6F, and our air-con was broken for three weeks. No fun!

How much money?

“our air-con was broken for three weeks.”

That sucks!

I’m not involved in this at all but last update was that the scanner got fixed and this should be done within 2 weeks…it’s been about 4 weeks now but I’m sure there should be an update soon.

Poita has had to deal with evacuating from brushfires last week, and health issues this week. He’s going to be offline for a few days at least.

The scanner was repaired, then broke again then after much fighting with the scanner manufacturer, was repaired correctly.
We had a bit of a backlog of commercial jobs to push through, but scanning has re-commenced once again. Samples will be coming early next week.

I personally had a mild heart attack, and have to rest up a bit, but the work will continue soon.

Jesus, I’m sorry to hear that! 😮 Please rest for as long as you need to. Your health is the most important thing for you to be concerned about. Take care, man!

That sounds like a PITA! Unfortunately with trade equipment there are few people who can service/repair them, and it’s often the case that only the manufacturer can provide servicing. At my old job we had equipment that would break down and the closest serviceperson isn’t in our city so we would have to wait 2 weeks or more (usually) for it to be fixed. The serviceman I’m thinking of though was very good at his job and always eager to see the equipment working properly, but he was always very busy and in-demand.

We had a similar issue with our ancient extensometer in the lab at work last year. The issue was, we didn’t have the paperwork for it anymore, and they refused to service it without the paperwork, even when we offered to pay though the nose for it and had proof that they’d serviced it a few years earlier.

We said fuck it and bought a new one from a different manufacturer. Sadly, replacing that meant we had to hold on to our shitty lab extruder for another year…man I fucking hate that thing…

Poita when you have a chance I have a question for you - what reasonably priced graphics card would you suggest I get for video editing? I have an i7-4770 and 24GB of DDR3.
