Re the PDI, I'm not going to go into a huge amount of detail here about the capture process, we will be covering it soon in an article on the site.

But to answer your question, no, it will not be captured on anything except the PDI deluxe card.
We have already done 3 months of experimentation with capture devices, and the PDI/Sweetspot was head and shoulders above any other solution -
At any rate, it far out-specs the laserdisc standards, so the difference with using anything above that is pretty academic.
It is more what is done after the capture from this point on.
Keep your eye on the site for more details re the capture aspect. For us as a crew, we have moved past that stage, we know how to get the best capture we can, and what gear to use, our R&D is now into the processing of footage stage, so that is what we will be discussing here for the most part, as it is what we are doing now.
