I think it was mentioned the shields were weakening? It did feel like a Star Trek plot device in any event.
I will admit a slow speed space chase doesn’t feel very Star Warsy to me, but then again, I didn’t like the lack of car chases in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and people seem to like that movie. 😉
