ugh. just ugh. I wish b**** about my experience in going to the movies to watch the new Star Wars film. (don’t worry, no spoilers ahead). I figured since it was a Star Wars movie, that I’d go all out by a ticket to a 3D showing with Regal’s RPX. I paid a lot for my ticket. I sit down in my seat and the movie starts. Some idiot woman coming in late the movie has trouble finding her assigned seat. She decides while she is confused about where it is, she has to stand right in front of where my seat is and block my view of the movie. It was less than minute but still. There were also little kids sitting to the left of me, that while mostly well behaved they did make noise and move around every once and a while. A little later after the film started, this couple to right of me were talking and wouldn’t shut up. I then noticed that the 3D wasn’t working, that is what the couple were talking about. The male of the couple then decided he had to interrupt my watching of the film to ask if I noticed the 3D was not working. I then unfortunately yelled at him that I was trying to concentrate on the movie. Even if it wasn’t in 3D was not going to walk out of that movie. I think the female of the couple must have gone out and complained about it. I think at first the 3D wasn’t and was showing in 2D. I think when the lad (or someone else) when to complain about it. They turned the 3D on. But still the 3D was not working right. It was doing something very weird with the image. It was not the 2 images weren’t aligned properly. It was distracting and annoying and it kind of hurt my eyes. It is hours later and I eyes still have not totally recovered. Also I think many were getting up to complain about it and at point maybe some movie theater employee or multiple thereof came in to see the situation for themselves. The people going in and out was distracting. When the movie was over I went to customer service and talked to them about it. They of course already knew about the situation. They did give me a free pass(I don’t know if it will work to get into another showing in 3D + RPX, it might just be for a regular movie showing. While they gave me the pass, I still there response was inadequate. They should have employees standing right out side the theater at the time it ended handed out free passes to everyone in the theater and apologized. The way they did it, only those that went to customer service desk and complained were getting the free passed. I know no everyone in the theater went to complain. While some may decide to complain via the net or something like that, there are some that had to sit through that (and paid a lot for their tickets) that won’t complain and will never find out they could get a free pass for their troubles.
It was not a good day at the theater for me. 😦
