Hey, odin777, did you find out anything new about how mega’s servers react if you set FreeRapid Downloader to automatically retry indefinitely once you’ve reached your data allotment? Could you tell if time got added with the several attempts that were too early or not?

I’ve been doing that myself over the past week. Just finished yesterday. I noticed specifically a couple of instances where it strangely added an extra half hour onto the time. But I only noticed that happening in those two instances. Could have been something else up there. But leaving it on 24/7 doing that worked just fine in the long run. Whatever time was added if any was not a big deal compared to how much I had to download.

Hey guys,
I thought that I wanna share with you my set of the despecialized editions that I finished today. This actually required a lot of work and would not have been possible without all the amazing people here on this website. This is definitely a dream come true for me, as Star Wars always had and will have a special place in my heart.

I made a 4 disc set, including not only njvc’s fantastic versions, but also the German theatrical version and the 35mm versions of all movies.

Last but not least, thanks to all of the amazing people, who made this possible:
harmy, not only for creating the DE, but also the 35mm version of Return of the Jedi.
njcv and solkap, for creating/sharing the beautiful menu editions of the DE.
The G, for uploading Star Wars before solkap started this thread.
stealthboy, for the amazing artwork.
Bluto, for sharing the 35mm editions of SW and ESB.
Laserschwert and TR2N for the German versions of the DEs.

And to all the users of this website, who make this place a wonderful experience for every Star Wars fan. 😃

Merry Christmas!

J.D.

That’s just gorgeous! I’m so jealous 😉.

Question. Are the Bluray case inlays meant for 14mm cases? What about the other original Harmy AVCHD inlays are they 14mm as well or 11/12mm or something? I want to buy the correct cases and need to know the right sizes.

Well, if you have your eye on something in particular and you want to be extra sure, there’s always the option to private message (or PM) the user who posted it.

I think most of the designs on this site are designed for 12 mm spine cases, as those are generally the most common size for 2 disc blu-ray sets.

But since there are many slightly different options for cases (here for example) the best thing to do would probably be to buy whatever sized case will work best for your particular project and have them in hand before you start printing artwork.

As you can see from J.D.'s work a few posts back, some do sets of three, four, or more discs per film, by including material beyond what is in the NJVC set alone.

Once you have whatever empty case you choose, you can cut trial and error pieces of scrap paper to double check the precise size your printed insert will need to be.

And if the size you need is slightly larger or smaller than the design you’ve picked by a few mm, use a site like this one to precisely resize photo:

or this one to precisely resize pdfs:

But if you get a 12 mm case, like say this one, most of the designs here should already be all set to print as they are.

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience, but I think I may be doing a step wrong.

I got to around step 8. I’ve downloaded the google docs file, which opened my “notepad” application. This showed all of the links to each mega file. I then copied all of the “File Links for FreeRapid Downloader” that were under “Star Wars BD 50 Links” and pasted them into FreeRapid Downloader, starting the process.
The first 8 or so finished properly and quite quickly, but suddenly the four files that were downloading in the FreeRapid Downloader stopped, showing “Error starting download” under “Est. Time”.
I kept resuming them, then tried validating them, but nothing worked. I tried closing FreeRapid Downloader and opening it again, that didn’t work. I then reinstalled FreeRapid Downloader, but that changed nothing either. I thought it might be a problem with Java, so I reinstalled Java too, but that made no difference.
I went to “Harmy’s SWDE, Multipart RAR Download Links” (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UoGdxh7qZcqp8L-aJkFj_rCcjKf-xlCM4Fjvux3w6zg/pub" and tried downloading one of those (specifically the Towne32 edit). Those downloads went smoothly with no errors.
I thought it could be a plugin error, but when I went to FreeRapid Downloader’s site, it said all the “mega” plugins were online.

I’m confused as to why I’m receiving errors for the mega files, does anyone know how to fix this?

We were just discussing this above. Mega has a bandwidth limit. Once you reach it you have to wait up to 3.5 hrs to resume downloading. If you want to see exactly how much time you have left, right click on one of the downloads in your list that has “errored out” and select “open link in web browser” or something to that effect. There it will show a manual download button. Click on that and it’ll show a timer for how long you have to wait. It’s a pain. But that’s the cost of free downloads at Mega. It took me a week and a half to acquire all the files because of this.

I see, I was under the impression that FreeRapid Downloader bypassed the 3.5-hour delay. So am I able to simply let the files download in FreeRapid Downloader and when the delay is over, it will continue downloading the next 10 files?
Also, BD 50 is the one I want to get, right? That’s the file with the most content?

Author

Yes, but you have to set a retry timer. I set mine for like 45 mins and it just keeps retrying until the timer is up. FreeRapid definitely doesn’t bypass the delays.

Anyway, the BD50 files are the main films. The Bonus Features discs are BD25 save for the ROTJ/Trilogy one which is also BD50. So altogether there are 6 discs. 4 are BD50 and 2 are BD25. The actual films in BD25 are not available anymore. Just BD50.

Great, I think I understand now. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it!

This may be a dumnb question, but does anyone have a full list of content & tech specs for each of NJVC’s discs? I was able to download and burn without issue and now I’d like to make cover art. Obviously, I could just browse each disc manually and write down every feature by hand, but if someone has a full breakdown (or link to one), that would be incredibly helpful.

Does anyone use Digistor Blu-Ray discs? They make inkjet printable disks, and they don’t have any logo’s on the front like I believe some of the Verbatim has. Also their discs are “HTL”, which is the best kind of Blu-ray discs to use vs the cheap “LTH” discs that you see for sale everywhere. Also a while back, I’ve read that Blu-Ray discs out of Japan are the best, and I believe the Digistor discs are made in Japan.

What HTL and LTH are:

Is there a way to get the BD25 main film files? I already have 25gb discs printed and ready to be burned and would rather not buy new ones. Thanks

Not unless you look around on torrents, sorry. Only the extras discs for SW & ESB will fit on 25 GB discs.

But getting 50 GB discs fairly affordable.

You can get 10 packs on eBay for about $25.

Check out the listings here or here.

It’s also worth pointing out that you can always burn the film’s without menu to bd25. That’s how we did it before this nice set, anyway.

Hi Ryan,

I’ve never tried those and the listings I’m finding look expensive. Is there a reason why you’d prefer them to Verbatim besides the labeling issue? For what it’s worth, I have found that printing over any small bit of writing on the discs covers it better than you might expect.
