Holy hell, what the heck has happened to us?
Whether the police have the right to force your teenage son to masturbate in front of them in order to incriminate himself is a legal question few parents would think they’d have to consider.

Lots of people reacting as if the tweet was in earnest. I wish people would take the time to click on the article.
What a jackass.
That’s really gross.
Weird. If what they did was a violation of the 4th amendment, how were they able to obtain a search warrant?

Laws only work if people care about them.

I think the problem is that people are thinking that they (the Cato Institute) actually believed the question contained therein is a valid one.

They’re spending One Million dollars on this ad campaign. Maybe they could have donated to a charity or something? And here I was feeling guilty for buying myself a Christmas present!
I’m sure the little girl was coached. Say the line, and we’ll give you a puppy! 😛Wow, I didn’t know that until Trump took over, we couldn’t say Merry Christmas. hmm.
Christmas was the Candlejack of holidays.
Well a judge must have thought it a valid one. Cause some judge authorized a search warrant for such.

If I am not mistaken, a judge issued a search warrant to the cop to get the photos he was trying to get.

That judge must have thought it a legitimate question.

We weren’t talking about the judge.
ok.
What a jackass.
For two decades, the commander in chief has doled out distinguished-looking coins as personal mementos. Now, the presidential “challenge coin” has undergone a Trumpian transformation.
The presidential seal has been replaced by an eagle bearing President Trump’s signature. The eagle’s head faces right, not left, as on the seal. The 13 arrows representing the original states have disappeared. And the national motto, “E pluribus unum” — a Latin phrase that means “Out of many, one” — is gone.
Instead, both sides of the coin feature Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
The changes don’t stop there. In addition to his signature, Trump’s name appears three times on the coin, which is thicker than those made for past presidents. And forget the traditional subdued silver and copper: Trump’s coin, a White House aide marveled, is “very gold.”
Ralphie’s Little Orphan Annie secret decoder ring is more impressive looking.
However, I do have a few wobbly tables those could help with. They’ll probably turn green in a few years though. 😉

Candlejack? What a load of superstitous nons…

Incompetent cops murder a child in Texas.
EDIT: Before Warbler responds, I’ll amend my accusation to criminal manslaughter.
The Person in Question
according to the article you posted, shooting the kid was an accident. The bullet that hit the kid went through a wall and into the mobile home that boy was in. They weren’t aiming for the kid.
Criminal manslaughter.
EDIT: If the woman they meant to shoot to death had actually been armed then maybe I’d be willing to subtract the word “criminal” from my accusation.
The Person in Question
If I thought someone had a gun and started shooting them and in the process killed someone else, I would immediately be thrown in jail. Why is it that cops, who are supposed to be trained to prevent these accidents from happening, get a bunch of leeway? They should be better than this, and if they aren’t, then they should be held responsible.
The Person in Question
Criminal manslaughter.
Not sure.
