Reading the recent articles about Rian Johnson originally considering Billy Dee Williams for DJ’s role, I had an epiphany: swap out the Master Codebreaker for a Lando Calrissian cameo. I know that would be a tall order for a fan edit, but literally nothing else would have to change:

Maz could know Lando from her past with Han, and never mentions the MCB by name.
Poe, Finn, and Rose would likely have no idea who Lando was, by name or by appearance.
Leia is not present to fill in any of those gaps.
Even the MCB’s only line, “Not now, lovely, I’m on a roll,” would absolutely work for Billy Dee Williams.

Just spit-balling, but I thought I’d share. 😃
