Of course it was one of the Falcon’s escape pods.
I’m wondering if the design of the escape pod was inspired by Jabba the Hutt’s “favorite decoration”. Which would be tempting for a movie in the same trilogy position as Empire.
Monolithic slab, Rey’s face and hand positions, etc.
Going to look for this in my next viewing.
