Why is there a need to challenge the older narratives of Star Wars? Aren’t those narratives part and parcel to Star Wars? At least the old ones? And why utilize the characters who were integral to that old narrative to challenge the narrative? It seems an odd choice. An almost doubling back on itself.
It’s one thing to say “this is a new trilogy, take it or leave it”. That’s not quite what happened here.
