*shrugs* No sense berating someone because they like a different genre or try to diversify themselves more than you.

I'm probably going to download both SMRPG and Earthbound for the over the Revolution Virtual Console system. Until then, I might check out the ones Sessler suggested. Also, I hear Sky's of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia are good.

And of course I intend to pick of the second GBA Fire Emblem whenever I have enough money.

I've played Red and Silver to death. Are the Fire/Leaf versions worth it, or what about Emerald?

Hey all-

As I never got my X-Box for my birthday ( ) I was wondering if anyone had heard when the next console price-drop will be? I assume there will be one with the 360 coming out supposedly later this year.

You could always buy one used from EB Games, Gamestop, or what have you.

I've seen X-Boxes for as low as 120 bucks, they even come with a free game and a warranty.

Maybe he is a poke-hater.

I must confess, I got bored of Pokemon after the first time I beat it all the way through.

I got the Pokemon Yellow bundle pack around, what, 1997? I had a great amount of fun playing it, but after I played through it, I tried to play Blue and Red and the other two that came out around the beginning of 1998(Sapphire or something) but just got extremely bored with them, I mean, they are essentially the same game and I just couldn't get into them.

That was the last time I played Pokemon.

did you get the Mew pokemon (this was back when it was only blue and red). It was like an exclusive to Toys 'R' Us. They had a special cartridge and you could go there and get it transfered to you game pack...not sure what the stipulations were, ie if you had to turn any kind of certificate or anything...I worked at TRU at the time so I got the hook up

Most of my pokemon vanished from my cartridge (I had all 151, including one at each stage of evolution) Dunno why the vanished though, maybe they left cause I hadnt played it since like 98 But my core team is still there as well as my Mew.

If I remember correctly, you could actually *find* Mew on Yellow.

I didn't find it, but I had a pal that had a mew and we did the old pokemon duplicating trick on our GBCs so we both had Mew on our cart.

If you like Zelda, the A Link to the Past/Four Swords game is a must-buy.

I had a blue cart back in the day, I had a lot of high-level ones, mainly from the unlimited item trick pulled on rare candy.

Yes, I had connections with people who had Game Genies, I ended up with Mew, and a bunch of ridiculously high-level pokemon.

Has anyone played Silent Hunter III? Thoughts?

Its a relatively new Submarine Simulation game, I've heard some good reviews about it, but I've learned to take them with an industrial sized bag of salt.

no, me and my brother had the blue and red, those were the first cartridges to be released states side. While we did use the duplicating trick to replicate a pokemon or two (might have only did that with mew cause I think we only brought one cartridge to TRU) we did get all of them cause we captured the cartridge exclusive and traded with each other. I think you could also use a trick to duplicate the master ball, but really the only real need for that was to catch Mewto cause he would escape from any other ball 100% of the time.

we didnt use the game genie to get mew because TRU had a special deal or something and was 'giving' him out i think part of their pokemon saturday morninings or something (they had some pokemon promotion)

I think my brother got a few of the other versions but I dont know about the mew thing...all I know is i got Mew from TRU and I think i replicated a couple pokemon so that i could get charizard, squirtle, and pikachu in each of thier stages of evolution.

after i beat the game i truely went for the 'got to catch em all' and tried to get one of each pokemon. so I would get ones that evolved and have one that was at each stage of evolution.

After that immature and retarded X-Play review, I'm not touching that game with a 10 foot pole.

Besides, any time I buy a PC game it's wasted money. I never play anything on PC.

Why? PC's do have some advantages over consoles. Easier to have multiplayer, since networks are run FOR computers. It's easier to maintain and can be upgraded. Are more acessible, it's easier to find a cheap computer than a cheap console. Can be programmed and tweaked easily. the only bad things are instalation and hardware requirement issues.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Mostly hardware issues, Ric. I swear when I run farcry on this computer, it renders NONE of the water or grass--it is all just a blue dirt as far as the eye can see with a few trees and bushes jutting out.

Also, for some reason when I sit down at a computer the first thing I want to do is come here and forum. Curses!

Bought Silent Hunter 3 for my dad for father's day...we'll see how good it really is.
