And why didn’t the one chick that Leia was having a lesbian relationship with tell Poe about their plan to evacuate everyone off of the ship? If they did that then Poe wouldn’t have sent Finn and fat asian chick to get captured and have their plan discovered.

‘and fat Asian chick’ has a name - if you can’t be bothered to learn what it is - then it could likely give the impression you didn’t think too much about your post there. Think twice about using that as a description for another person on this site too.

Same for the ‘one chick that Leia was having a lesbian relationship with’.

Okay? I was unaware that describing someone by their race, gender and body size is bad?

Ok cool. So you are terrible on purpose.

I’m not discriminating on that basis nor was I using the description in a derogatory manor, It was a general description.

Edit: When the police ask for a description of a person, is it racist/sexist to say their race, gender, how tall they were, what they were wearing? I’m sorry the character had little impact on me and I couldn’t remember her name.

Even if you didn’t know her name, calling her the “fat Asian chick” was a dick thing to do. Any normal person would have said something like Finn and that asian girl he was with.

"couldn’t be bothered to learn what her name is"
I wish the movie bothered to make me care.
Rose’s defining characteristics - has a dead sister, doesn’t like animal abuse. Real memorable.

J0E’s defining characteristics: acts like an asshole.

Adywan, I know that The Last Jedi will never get the Revisited treatment but are there any obvious nips and snips to sequences you’d make if you were to do a quickie style edit?

Isn’t there a thread for that?

4Chan ‘burner’ accounts been used to skew Rotten Tomatoes user score of The Last Jedi.

Sad to see - though not surprising given some of the returning trolls on here.

All that time and effort put into something so negative and ultimately worthless (trying to influence a film score on a review site).

This is exactly why the studios put too much faith in RT.

Do you seriously think a cop is going write down fat asian chick on a form? I hope everyone uses better judgement in trying to describe characters in the movie from this point forward.

I’m only sorry I didn’t read your whole post before turning in last night.

so forgetting everything else about this film for a second, i just have to say:

one of my absolute favorite shots in this film is kylo ren slashing a red ‘blood spatter’ slash through the salt with his feet after his running attack on Luke. beautiful.

Looks like there is a thread for that so let me pose the question in a different way - “what was your least favourite scene or sequence in the film?”

Anyone can answer, and could be interesting to hear specific answers as many criticisms are broad ones.

For me, as much as I like BB8 I would happily say goodbye to the monocle alien feeding him coins and then the pay off scene of firing them at the guard. Also BB8 again, driving the Scout Walker didn’t work for me.

I’ve only seen it once. But my least favorite scene is Luke throwing his lightsaber behind his back in that joking manor. That’s the worst. But the next worst is Poe joking around when talking to the Star Destroyer type ship. And Finn running around in that water suit.

It’s funny, I like TLJ and TFA almost the same, but while I can easily name my least favorite parts of TFA, there really aren’t any moments I’d definitively say I dislike from TLJ. I mean, my least favorite stuff is the sequence on Canto Bight, but I still like that sequence, just not as much as the rest of the film.

One of my favourites:

Kylo’s look when Hux repeats his order in his typical over the top manner during the battle of Crait.

One of my least favourites:

Rose’s awkward kiss also during the battle of Crait.

yeah that’s a good one.

i must admit, i expected Kylo to get rid of Hux before the end of the movie.

Leia became super(wo)man - because women are superior and man are inferior, thus Luke has to sit (and die) on a rock.
They could have edit the movie after Carrie passed and keep Luke in next one but nope because he is a man;

Ray is more powerful and wiser then Luke, and so is Leia.
Ray is more powerful and wiser then Kylo.
A strong woman.
Poe needs guidance as he is a man and questions women leadership, gets slapped to learn his place.
Fin needs guidance from that asian chick to not be a coward because he is a man.
Luke died and Leia said its fine because we have Ray. Clap.
ps. Admiral Ackbar could have had a farewell and do that light speed suicide jump into Snoke ship but nope we need random pink hair woman general, screw Ackbar (he warned us about the trap 😉 )

How nice, to sacrifice it all just to empower women, thanks Disney, thanks Kathleen Kennedy!
Also big thanks for brining that nonstop cartoon Disney humor, we needed it drown the sorrow.
Harry Potter kid in the end picks up his magic broom (like Mickey Mouse in Fantasia) to clean up the the trash that this movie was.

My rating of the movie is 9 out of 10. I’ve seen it twice and I had a big smile on my face both times. There’s a few things that I could stand to see removed but they were only minor niggles. From the way the crawl was worded right through to that gentle final shot this film gave me so much pleasure.

I loved the little dedication to “our princess” in the credits and the musical cue that accompanied it.

Did anybody hear if the traditional, “What the?”, “I have a bad feeling…” and the Wilhelm scream was used? I can’t say I remember but I was so caught up in both viewings I didn’t remind myself to keep an ear out!

I legitimately feel bad so many people found so much to dislike. It’s no excuse for some of the conduct in this thread though. Lighten up guys.

Wow, not a fan of women, are you? I know, it was a better world when men were always in charge, right?

Also it’s really troubling how many people here have not just a woman problem, but an Asian woman problem.

Well, whatever you want to call it. The tossing it behind his back in a goofy manor. It’s not just about being goofy, but also him tossing the lightsaber like it means nothing to him.

I get what they were trying to do. They were trying to have hermit Luke act like a goofball similar to how Yoda acted in Empire. It just didn’t work and I doubt anyone 2 years ago would have said that’s how they wanted that Rey/Luke scene to go to in TLJ.

You seem to have at least one woman problem.

Also it’s really troubling how many people here have not just a woman problem, but an Asian woman problem.

Ellen Ripley (Alien) = strong character who just happens to be female.
Rey = strong because she is a female, etc.
Nothing against women, I love them, this felt like Kathleens personal vendeta against men and the characters suffered because of it.

No scream, but BB-8 says the traditional line, but in droid-speak (according to Johnson).
