I’m totally going to leave halfway through so I can still see it for the first time.

That’s now how the firsttime works!

We’ll see about that!

i have only seen the trailer for the room, so … (something i will probably rectify at some point if i can find someone to borrow the movie from)

I’m seeing it at midday today so that’s pretty cool! In my time zone it’s 8:40 AM so not long now!

Not enough people read the EU.

You’re seeing The Room for the first time? I wish I could see it again for the first time. You lucky bastard.

Just got back from a showing.

Everything I expected was wrong. There’s a crapton to process.

A great film but definitely one that makes you go…huh. Ok. Wow. Gee. What??

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

I think that’s what excites me most. I want this to break both conventions and expectations. I’m not going in expecting to love every bit of it, but just looking forward to dissecting it and discussing it with friends. And based on the reviews I’ve read, it seems like it won’t disappoint on that front. That being said, I hope it both retains the feeling of Star Wars and at the same breaks new ground and allows Star Wars to actually feel fresh and unexpected.

A simple yes or no to this as this is a NON SPOILER thread.

I’ve willingly chosen not to know anything about the film from the trailers, ads, clips, articles etc. since it was first announced and will be spoil-free about the plot until tomorrow.

Is TLJ worth it to be seen in IMAX(3D)?

I saw it in Dolby Cinema. I enjoyed the quality that’s for sure! But with any good movie, you stop looking at pixel counts and contrast and 3d and you just let yourself get sucked in.

There are perhaps certain ‘buts’… however it’s difficult to discuss these in this thread.

I do feel this film will be controversial among fans and history will decide where it stands amongst the other films.

I’ve never actually sat down and watched The Room but I’ve seen all the scenes that one has to.

Since you haven’t seen every scene, you’re wrong.

Haven’t read the last few posts, don’t want to risk it. See y’all around Christmas when I finally see this

So the only screening I can catch on Thursday night is 12:45 AM at the Uptown.

I work at a movie theater (no, we’re not showing TLJ) and got stuck with a closing shift, but should be done by 12:20 which would give me just enough time to get over there.

Unless something unexpected comes up at the last minute, it looks like I’m doing this.

Less than 24 hours to go for me. After a week and a half of high winds, fires, smoke, and general gloom, I need this badly.

Should we lay odds on when the first bootleg appears online? And the first fanedit is begun?

I know some of you will be mentally fanediting the film opening night. 😛

A friend told me this takes more from the prequels than the originals… without the bad parts. I have no idea what that means.

This weekend for me. I feel drained from the year of Last Jedi hype and Solo drama, so I’m fine waiting a couple of days to avoid the insanity. I’m going to Alamo where it will be much more civil. All the pre-show filler before the trailers will be Star Wars related. Plus they have Star Wars themed cocktails and food.
😉

I still have my Millenium Falcon menu from the Force Awakens.

I think for some of us a great weight will be lifted off our shoulders this weekend. 😉

Just over 12 hours for me. ANCHORHEAD, it’s interesting that you’re avoiding craziness by waiting for the weekend. I’ve found that the Thursday night screenings are way less mobbed in these parts than the proper opening weekend ones. That was the case for Rogue One, anyway; for The Force Awakens I went to a different theater in a bigger city and there was a line. Which was actually super fun for me, since I don’t think I’d had the chance to do that before (maybe for Sith, but I don’t remember). Anyway, I plan to get an early dinner near the theater and head over an hour or so before the show. Man oh man am I excited for this.

EDIT: fixed my very unfortunate username mixup. It’s early in the morning.

Distance is another issue for me. I live rurally about 30 miles from the city and Alamo is most of the way into town. It takes a bit more planning to do a 50 mile ride on a work night. Waiting a day or two for the weekend isn’t that big of a deal.

Not an issue on the mixup. 😃
