I think we were both pretty darn polite in telling you what the forum rules are before getting a mod involved. I don’t know why people join forums with the intention of starting out on the wrong foot. It is explicitly against the rules.

By definition, this is not what a preservation is. Whether or not it’s a nice idea (I think it is) and in spirit with what was produced in 1977 is another matter. And even if one did argue that anything filmed in 1977 is fair game for making it a preservation (this is false, you can make fan edits without producing new material or effects, they are still fan edits), it’s still an edited version of the shot. In 1977, it would have mentioned Luke’s father. Instead, we get a teleporting R2D2 due to the absence of that segment, along with some 1997 crew member that walks in front of the screen. At least it wasn’t a Ronto.
