Regarding the alternate music; it’s the sort of thing I really would prefer not to do. Not sure how to put it into words, but it’s the same instinct that drives me to reword the TFA:R crawl to closely follow the original, and the reason why I intentionally varied the crawls in my prequel edits (color, glow, and angle).
I do want to let each movie feel distinct. I like watching ESB’s crawl and instantly recognizing that crawl for what it is, with it’s idiosyncrasies. Some people really like that the PT used the same recording for each crawl and want to use that one for TFA as well. Me, on the other hand, I wanted to find alternate recordings of the opening theme to use for Episodes II and III, though this didn’t pan out.
It’s all rather moot, though, as the existing audio provided doesn’t sync with the theatrical. Presumably Adywan crafted it for his universal crawl template. If anyone wants to build an edit from TFA:R V2, that alternate opening score will be available for them.
