Excellet point MebeJedi. I've heard when EU approached him about MidiCholorians he said that they can not use that and that idea was a bad one, and yet he touched on it in Ep. III. But the more gaps you have the more fans create there own answers, which makes for more unaswerable debate and a quest for truth from a broken mythology.

The more I read about the philosphy/underworkings of the movie to help me with my own edit, its maddening. Although some people says this about religion with contradictions or the difference between the PT and OT in though is like the Old testament and New Testament. Maybe Lucas expects us to have an unquestioning faith, but my mind works scientificly and lately I am driving myself nuts working on scripts that give more depth.

Then maybe you should focus on how the events in your stories affect the characters on different levels. The first season of Smallville was excellent in this regard - there were lots of comments and statements that had one meaning to one character, but carried a second meaning to other characters (and the audience, who is also "in the know".)

And I love the "You're not Superman" line in Spiderman II. That was great.

(Or you can be more tongue-in-cheek like the "He thinks he's Rambo" line in "Tango and Cash." )

<span class=“Bold”>JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.</span></span>

<span class=“Bold”>Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.</span></span>

Yes! Smallville is one of my favorite shows, the first season definitely being my favorite. Btw, Aunt May's line to Peter was actually in Spider-Man I.

An great Star Wars example of this would be in TPM, when Qui-Gon and Anakin discuss his lightsaber:

Anakin: You're a Jedi knight, aren't you?
Qui-Gon: What makes you think that?
Anakin: I saw your laser sword. Only Jedi carry that kind of weapon.
Qui-Gon: Perhaps I killed a Jedi and took it from him.
Anakin: I don't think so; no one can kill a Jedi!
Qui-Gon: I wish that were so.

This is some of my favorite SW dialogue. Here we have Anakin, future slaugterer of Jedi, insisting to Qui-Gon that Jedi are invincible. Qui-Gon, the only Jedi to die in the film, sadly informs him that it isn't so.

Welcome back Obi-wonton.

I must say that this talk of Maul as Grievious is rather interesting. I too have often thought that it would've been a great idea if executed properly. Grievious was a pretty much worthless character in ROTS. THe only reason he was there was to kidnap Palpatine and lure Obi-wan off Coruscant. Having him as Maul adds a connection to the previous film. You no longer need wonder who the heck this guy is. You know full well, and their battle becomes Obi vs Maul II, The Rematch. I think it would make things a lot more personal, and really make their fight more interesting.

Truly chilling photo GreenCapt. ^_^ Can you do one with the full mask? Maybe add something of the tattoo pattern to it as well?

^^^ LOL! Shouldn't you give him a double-ended lightsaber?

"Btw, Aunt May's line to Peter was actually in Spider-Man I. "

Sorry...rented keyboard.

Needs another lightsaber in his hand.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind. Just add the body tattoos and it'd be perfect, though it looks awesome already. Shame that it's probably implausible to do in the film itself.

Nice work GreenCapt.

Thanks!

Yeah, it would take a helluva lot of Photoshopping to do throughout the entire film. Would be very, very interesting to see though.

Well I am going to get a copy of 3ds max and mapping from work in photoshop can be done and run through the films. I have plans for Darth grievous in my edit as well. I've written 9 scripts for 9 movies. I am learning vegas, acid, and sound forge now (which can do 5.1 sound fields), then I can do combustion/3ds max for effect (much higher end than after effects - main competitor is maya). Well, I guess I'll reveal some...Darth Grievous must get more than cut in half, there will be flame involved...this flame burns him then, flame burns him when obi kills him in ROTS, Anakin gets burned in ROTS then is lit in the Funeral pyre. You'll see.

That Darth Grevious picture is incredible, greencapt.

As for transposing that into the entire film, not only would it be next to impossible, I have my doubts about how it would look in live action, and it might be rather ridiuclous looking.

Thanks again! The sad part is that with access to the CGI model of GG, a new texture map could be easily re-rendered with both Maul's markings and eyes. But for that matter, one could re-animate his whole sequences to make them more bad-ass. Sigh. If only GL would have thought of that.
