Best way to capture Hulu video

Hey everyone. I initially avoided posting this in here because I didn’t want anyone to assume that I’m asking this for the purposes of piracy, but the project-specific thread doesn’t seem to be getting much traction, so here we are.

What’s the best way to capture Hulu video?

I ask because I’m trying to preserve the 22-minute episode cutdowns of the 90-minute Futurama movies, which are currently on Hulu in their 22-minute form.

Ideally, I’d like to find some software that can capture and download the video and audio streams directly, without reencoding if at all possible.

I’ve tried KeepVid and Freemake Video Downloader, neither of which worked for me at all. Hulu seems to have locked out the methods the programs used to use.

Any suggestions?

Add RTMPDumpHelper to the list of programs Google suggested that didn’t work at all for me…

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot when I have a chance to.

Does Hulu have a website if it does just use OBS just try not move the mouse

I don’t know what OBS is, but if it’s a screen capturing program, I’d prefer not to use it. I’d rather download the stream itself directly to preserve the best possible quality and avoid any potential buffering, frame rate, or auto-reported/bitrate adjustment issues.

When I cared about Hulu, I had good luck with GetFLV. You can demo the program for free to see if it works: http://www.vdigger.com/download.html

Internet’s finally fixed and will be up and running again tomorrow, so I should have a chance to try this out after work tomorrow night.

GetFLV didn’t work for me. Using the IE kernel I was able to see the video files to download, but upon downloading I just ended up with a ~250MB MP4 file that wouldn’t play in anything and showed up as completely empty in MediaInfo.

Might try downloading Safari/Opera/something else and using that kernel instead tonight, but I’m not holding my breath. Waste of $60…
