That's a fair question, because being the Chosen One is never discussed in his presence. That being said, Anakin doesn't seem confused when Obi-wan yells it at him.

Obi-wan: You were the Chosen One!

Anakin: [Scooby-Doo] Huh!?! [/Scooby-Doo]
