I don’t really play video games too much anymore, but I have heard about this and it is annoying. It’s hard to have any sense of achievement unlocking something normally when others can pay to have it instantly, and it’s a model that doesn’t really make sense in a traditional video game. Micro-transactions and all this other crap have really just driven me away from the hobby entirely. Really, the only thing keeping me interested in it is Nintendo (who has also slowly moved towards dumb stuff like this too, but not as overtly bad), otherwise, I’ll stick with my old games.
