Been kinda itching to get this in the same AR as the original TV show. Does anyone know if the domestic VHS releases of Fire Walk With Me are open matte like in these screenshots? (e.g. not pan and scanned during shots like these to hide equipment/set edges):

It’s insane that Lynch let them get away with that kind of tampering with his shot composition. I would have panned and scanned it for a 4:3 release.

Also, this is still just a conventional framing for 4:3 instead of a pure, reckless open matte job like the VHS screenshots above. The verdict is still out for that version.
