Not sure if this makes sense, but because of his jaw & chin, Tarkin’s face always seems like it’s pointing to a vanishing point underneath him. At least when it’s broken down like a caricature. So it kind of set me up for a top down composition.
Recording a speed painting video is a great idea, actually. Something to consider. Maybe for the next project, where I’ll begin a new and do everything from scratch (cause, like I mentioned before, these SW drawings have all been sketched out already; inking is all that’s left). Watching me try and get the likenesses down would probably be hilarious… all the erasing and stuff… I do have a Youtube channel, though.
