Since it’s too late to change the name on the ballot, Republicans may attempt some sort of “refuse to seat him/he resigns/appoint new Senator” gambit, which basically amounts to “you’re just voting for the Republican ticket, not this particular Republican. Trust us to sort out the details.”

My mistake. This is the tactic they’re taking.

Umm… nevermind that a) their culture is not our culture; and b) Joseph was not with Mary until after Jesus was born. So I don’t see how those could possibly correlate to this.
Unless somebody can dig up some birth certificates, I’d take the actual ages of people in the Bible with a pillar of salt. 😉
That somebody is already whipping out the It’s in the Bible defense is a strong indicator the guy is probably guilty as hell.
