Because it requires significant effort to rip everything, organize it, name it, sort it, and find good looking images for it, and go online to figure out why they haven’t implemented support for feature requests that are coming up on 6 years old now.

Because I have over 300 movies and over 30 TV series on it. Many with special features which I ripped and organized myself. Manually.
It’s not as easy as pushing a button. It’s the same thing as Netflix only you’re using Netflix’s media servers instead of your own. Someone had to organize all of that. To tell it what the poster art is, what the background wallpaper is, what the episode names are, and to make sure that they’re all named and numbered properly.
But you wouldn’t know that, so no, if you used Plex or Emby or Kodi, it wasn’t your server. Whosever server it was had to fix it themselves. It takes time and effort. If it’s not your job and you enjoy doing it, it’s a hobby.
