Chalk up the silly lumbering to Hayden being in the suit. The guy can't act, plain and simple. I give him props for trying to adopt the speech patterns of JEJ in this movie. That was a subtlety that most aren't giving him due credit for. But on the whole, he just can't deliver dialogue convincingly, and apparently he can't do convincing body work either.

A few months back I suggested that Leo D. should have played the role, because he LOOKED like he could be a young Sebastian Shaw, he IS and A-list actor who can act, and can even convince you he's a teenager still (anybody who doubts that should watch Catch Me If You Can again). Somebody talked about the height issue, and I suggested that height was still a problem with Hayden, and that it could be solved by cutting off Anakin's legs and Vader having mechanical legs.

I had not read any spoiler info, but the height issue was solved just as I thought it should have been. So again, I think Leonardo could have acted the role perfectly with the height issue being resolved exactly as it was.

If only we could digitally replace Jake Lloyd with Haley Joel Osment (at age 10) and Hayden with Leo, I think the prequels could actually work.

So, has Episode III cheapened Vader in anybody else's mind when you go back and watch the OT? It has unfortunately altered my perception of the OT for the worse. This is quite bothersome.
