The point is that you think it’s getting worse and worse. Which is funny. Because black people would probably say what is getting worse and worse is the police killing them. But you know, protesting during the anthem is the real problem.
I think that in hindsight people will be more forgiving of the anthem protestors. Everyone was about equally furious at Sinéad for tearing up the pope’s picture on SNL but I think now every rational person on earth would say she at the very least had a point.
It’s possible and I hope you’re right, but institutional racism is unfortunately something a large number of people will never ever admit is a problem.
Maybe, but I’m talking like 25 years down the line. At the very least, people who aren’t intensely denouncing the athletes but still are frustrated will get it a little more.
