The disc is perfect.

Wow, thanks Anakin Starkiller! This might give me the push needed to give HttF the same treatment. Appreciate all he support! 😃

I’m rooting for English subtitles with HttF’s “new menu version”… if they are available. Of course, I’m not expecting you to create them out of scratch. 😃

Like I said to DigMod, he knows better than anyone what has been cut and where (a log book of how many frames were cut could be very handy when it comes to sync subtitles). HTTF has many cuts and would be quite hard to make, but ROTR has only a dozen of things cut (and none during the last 45 minutes) that would need to resync subtitles. I made a french version (yeah I know, it’s R1 but my relatives wish a complete SW marathon before VIII and no way I wanted to watch the boring theatrical cut again. At least ROTR corrects many things from the first act which now flows better 😃), could be possible to use its time frame to resync english subs as well (I may try that later if it’s not too much time consuming, just need to retrieve the english sub from the bluray first).

By the way DigMod is the release of an uncompressed and corrected 5.1 audio track still on your scope ?
Thanks a lot if you do ! 😃

Honestly, I’m not really doing much edit wise right now.

As for the audio. Vegas doesn’t like to spit out large uncompressed audio files for some reason. I’m not sure what you mean by “corrected”.

By corrected I mean that the audio file on your bluray version is 2.0 and not 5.1. I’ve checked twice the iso file and it really is 2.0. Too bad the file can’t be less compressed ! (but I think the lack of “punch” I noticed with the current 448 kbps track is due to the absence of 4 channels).

French subtitles (with further corrections made 'cause while synchronizing the english ones it appeared to me that a few lines were not properly translated. Edit: someone saw a few “last” mistakes, so it’s been corrected… for good ? 😄):

Much appreciated MalàStrana! I checked my project file and it is indicating 5.1. I’ll be checking the wave file to make sure it rendered in 5.1 I’ll also run the file through media info and see what I get. How did you extract the audio?

I extracted the m2ts file from the iso file (the route is: “RotR.iso\BDMV\STREAM”), then I opened it with audacity.

edit: it appears I get the same result with your Ep VII edit, which also has 4 channels missing. Can anyone else confirm it ?

I just mounted my ROTR BD image and opened it in Media Player Classic.

6 channels, it says.

JEDIT:

Okay, I don’t know if this is Audacity’s fault but I got the same result.
I ran the M2TS from my BD image through tsMuxer and demuxed the AC3, then loaded it in Audacity.

It makes me want to check other software to make sure it isn’t Audacity goofing up.

It isn’t just Audacity. And apparently the other channels aren’t technically completely blank. But there is a problem. I installed WavePad and this is what it shows:

I remember Hal had some audio export issues on his PT, with side channels ending up being merged. But he used premiere pro if I remember correctly. Your problem is that when you render a 5.1 audio file it gives you a 5.1 audio file but with 4 empty channels. Could be something missing in your vegas pro lib file or else ?

Here is the audio track from the mp4 13Go version of RotR:

As it can be seen, all channels display something. So the audio issue is only found in the bluray version I guess.

Yeah, I just dropped the bd stream into vegas and it gave me the same results. I don’t know what DVD architect is doing that is messing this up… this is super frustrating. sorry everyone

I think he used Final Cut Pro.
