Are they somehow being forced to buy it?
IIRC, there was a simliar uproar when Armageddon and The Rock both got lavish Criterion Laserdisc editions. Some things never change. 😉

It was kinda brilliant to announce it, get people mad, and announce a flash sale while everyone’s talking about Criterion already. It’s shame Dr. Strangelove sold out as soon as I heard about the sale, but I did get Tarkovsky’s Stalker.
