I am surprised that DE has not yet made one.

I see you arrived here from the past via a time machine.

I have just noticed he already made one. I guess his reputation is well deserved.

How about you just start your own Frink Star Wars thread where people are only allowed to post things you agree with.

If my reputation was well deserved, I’d be a pathokinetic serial killer.

Sick burn?

I’m over discussing / arguing it myself. Was initially just curious as to how ATMachine came to that conclusion. My view on the scene itself is still unchanged and I’ll never connect rape with anything in SW because I never have to date nor even had the remote thought of it ever entered my mind when watching SW and I’ll be happy to stop talking about it as it’s a horrible reality of our world that Id rather leave out of my enjoyment of the SW story.

And you could start a forum where you just shit on everything people like.

Oh wait you’ve already got ot.com.

I put Rebels right up there with my favorite of the live action movies. I can’t wait for this last season, it may actually surpass some of the movies for me.

I don’t know how anyone could rate any of the PT movies above any of the other SW or “A SW Story” movies. They will forever remain at the bottom of my list irregardless of what any fanedit manages to salvage.

Though I guess if I were to include the OT SEs in the list separately from the theatrical OT / DSEs, I would put the SEs below the PT, so much do I hate what GL did to his original creations.

I will never again watch any version of the SEs, whereas I do still watch my definitive selection of PT edits.

  3. Return Of The Jedi
  4. The Last Starfighter
  5. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
  6. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
  7. Spaceballs
  8. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
  9. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
  10. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
  11. Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

I know that The Last Starfighter and Spaceballs are not a part of the Star Wars franchise, but they both looked and felt like Star Wars movies.

😃 well, despite being plagued by a few pretty questionable choices, I feel ROTS has still a more interesting story and a bigger emotional impact than both R1 and TFA, closer to ROTJ in this regard. Keep in mind that the version I’m familiar with is dubbed, by very talented voice actors too, so no bad acting.
I still think R1 is a good movie, though, especially in its first half.

Fair enough. I’m assuming you are referring to a version with another language dubbed over top?

Yep, the original Italian version.
Here’s a few samples for Anakin’s acting (sorry for the low audio quality. Also, ignore the “unlimited powa” stuff 😄 ):

The continued support for ROTS, which failed on every level regardless of any voice dubbing, continues to amaze me.

To people like me, whom (I think I’m using whom right, I never mastered that) TFA and R1 failed to even moderately entertain, saying ROTS is better isn’t saying very much. Not sure if that’s part of John Doom’s reasoning. TFA and R1 are above the prequels in my ranking, but not by much.

I also watched ROTS for years with a high quality foreign dub and while it diminishes the moost awkward dialogues and deliveries, it can’t distract from the dumb plot and bland characters.

Ceci n’est pas une signature.

Or that the entire thing was filmed like a collection of video game cutscenes. Or that it completely failed to deliver on the creation of Darth Vader, which was its most important task.

Saying ROTS is better may not be saying much but it’s still saying way too much, no matter how little you weren’t entertained by TFA or R1.

R1 felt like trailer shots and video games cutscenes to me too. It didn’t ruin Darth Vader, so that puts it above ROTS.

I wouldn’t say it’s better, but I actually remember having some very vague feelings as I left the theatre after ROTS. Now that might have been because I fully believed that I had just seen the last Star Wars movie ever, and it was completely lame and boring, but I felt something. TFA and R1 were like two hours that vanished from my life with no impact whatsoever.

TFA was pure shit. So one can reasonably say that just about anything is better than TFA.

And completely irrelevant to anything.

Just how is ranking Star Wars films (i.e., if something is better than TFA or not) irrelevant to “Ranking the Star Wars films” thread?
