  • HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE - REMADE

[Finito Incantatem]

After months and months of hard work, I can happily conclude with the very fact that Goblet of Fire : Revisited is finished in terms of all technical aspects and audio mixes, with very little nitpicks left to do.

Thanks to everyone who has been contributing, and especially to those who have been sticking with me since Sorcerer’s Stone in 2014. All the excellent ideas, constructive criticisms and positive feedback has helped me craft - what I think - is a very, very strong Goblet of Fire.

Special thanks are (from fanedit.org’s community): JJPotter for some excellent high-quality deleted scenes, MWRK and Masirimso17 for a burning desire to improve and suggest, and all others who have in any way contributed. Thank you all.

Now, I will need a cover art. Scar has made some excellent ones for me in the past. I hope some will contribute in this area, as making one myself would be - to say it politely - a catastrophy.

As for a release date; when JJPotter has released his EE for GoF or his approval has been granted, and when I have a cover art.

Surely, thank you all! And an extra thanks to you here on originaltrilogy.com who has made these Remakes of the (now three entries) to my Revisited Saga into some sort of internet cultural thing. I never expected them to grow into this big thing, but having now over 110.000 registered downloads on just the first entry… thank you all.

*** For those who have not followed the progress of this edit, here is a short explanation and some previews: ***

  • Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire is the kind of Harry Potter movie that, as for my passion and mind, requires a totally different kind of work. Just like Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, it has many weak beats and pacing issues - as well as a narrative full of oddities, but the thing that really stands out for GoF is a horrible original score that horrifyingly resembles Pop Music or a weird Potter-remix. The score has its moments, but most of it is really not cohesive as for the rest of the series on-going themes. Like the opening intro for instance (DUN-DUDUD-- EEEH-EEEEH- DUN-DUDU - EEEH-EEEEH) that sounds like some horror house trance music.

  • So just as Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, the Goblet of Fire needs a much more cohesive tone to follow along with the rest, as the tone of the fourth movie is in many ways quite different from the rest of the series - not just in score and pacing, but in visual style and tone… So for me it feels like this half continuation of PoA, but half back-tracking into CoS, yet trying to make the movie even darker than its predecessors, and what do we get? A stylistically confusing movie.
