That’s awesome! Has anyone seen this before? I just found it on YouTube yesterday by accident. Michael J. Fox together with Coldplay playing Earth Angel and Johnny B. Goode live. There’s a couple of different angles:
Dang, that is awesome.
“You don’t really mean you’ll kill me, do you?” - Juror 8
“Silence, Earthling! My name is Darth Vader. I am an extra-terrestrial from the planet Vulcan!” - Calvin “Marty” Klein
I agree! 😃
If I’m not mistaken–the shot of the piano keyboard and part of the Huey Lewis shot are also deleted.
One thing that’s always bugged me about this song is that I never thought the singer was a very good match for MJF.
As imperfect as his singing voice is, I wish they’d given him a shot at singing it himself—with multiple takes I think they could have cobbled something passable together.
Has MJF ever sung in a movie? Can only recall one other film where he’s a musician.
Where were you in '77?
He sang in Light Of Day.
That’s probably the movie I’m thinking of.

Those are great…
Here’s another video that some of you may find interesting—a British family recently on vacation in CA found many of the shooting locations for BTTF 1, 2 & 3. What amazes me is how so many places still look the same and how tiny the original “Enchantment” stage was. I actually found parts of it to be quite eerie for some reason:
…and I didn’t know Marvin Berry was still performing (lol):

I agree! Even if it would’ve taken a week, it would’ve been worth it. 😉
In the movie commentary, I think it was Bob Gale who seemed really proud that they found such a great vocal “match” for MJF. But to me, the vocal always stuck out like a sore thumb and the scene would have felt much more authentic if he’d done his own vocals.
Aside from the “lost” footage, someone could drop in shots from the full frame DVD and restore a good chunk of it.
I hope somebody does that.

I would honestly be happy to do that, but I no longer have my BTTF DVDs, since I upgraded to 4K discs. Anyone able to rip just the first film from a FS DVD and share? I’ll do the work if someone can share the 4:3 resources. Thanks!
I went ahead and ordered the 4:3 DVDs from amazon today, so I should have a fully restored video to share next week.
Good luck with this project and thanks for tackling it! Can’t wait to see it. 😃
I was able to put together a finished video, and I think it looks pretty good. Please PM me if you’d like a link.
I did my best to color correct the music video footage and DVD footage to match, but if anyone is a more gifted color timer than I am, please feel free to take a crack at it. (I can send you the non-compressed files to work with.)
Great job! Thanks again!
