Deserves it. He has revolutionized the way films are made from Pixar to SFX to previsulasation, to advancing Digital Sound and Picture, most of what you watch today has GL's fingerprints all over it.

You've noticed, huh?

Actually, hate is not the right word........I loathe the motherfucker.........

I just would love to get the chance to be a gah-jillionaire and then I'm gonna buy up all his favorite movies, CGI the shit out of them, colorize them and then insert a bad CGI-looking rip-off of Jabba The Hutt. When I'm finished I'm going to take the original versions and negatives and then I'm gonna torch the motherfuckers.....and get it all on videotape just so I can mail it to him.

Ahhhhhh........my hate has made me powerful......

George.....you don't know the POWER of the dark side!!!

How many of your favorite films did he buy? Oh, you mean HIS films that he's tinkered with.

Your arrogance blinds you.

No, I mean his favorite films.......like Flash Gordon and stuff like that. If I made movies....there would be a disclaimer that says George LucASS is not allowed to watch this imperfect film.

But you didn't make Flash Gordon, so for you to edit it would be nothing like Lucas editing his own works.

This argument is going to go round and round.....

Besides, it's a good thing that they honor him now. I don't think he's going to be terribly successful beyond SW. Not as a director, anyways.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

He made two VERY good films in American Graffiti and THX before Star Wars.

THX sucked, it was the biggest "1984" rip off ever.

I thought it was very good, great 70's avant garde stuff. Isn't everything a rip off of everything else though? Most films are a rip off of Asimov, or Shakespeare or Hemingway, right?

When I said "beyond", I meant "after". Besides, you have to admit that THX1138 is not for the average audience, and More American Grafitti was a bomb.

Oh c'mon! Willow was great fun! What the heck did you want from a fantasy/adventure???

Willow is a very enjoyable film to watch, but look how much it copies from Star Wars. Radioland Murders wasn't too hot, either.

No, but I bet it would piss him off!!!!

To be perfectly honest....nothing LucASS has done is that great.

THX, AG, or the movies he's been involved in...Willow, etc....etc......

His shining moment was Star Wars.....ESB, Indy trilogy, young indy TV show were all handled by other people with him just guiding the way.

We won't mention ROTJ though....

To be honest he's a terrible director. "Star Wars" was a fluke. Thank Christ he never directed "Empire" if i was him i would have let Kershner directed the whole saga.

Even though the credits say otherwise, he directed ROTJ.

He also directed THX, which is directed wonderfully.

This LucASS thing is getting really old, do you really have to ridicule him everytime you say his name?

Yes.....absolutely. Untill I get the OOT on DVD....he is LucASS to me.

I'm not asking anyone else to say it.......is it really that big of a deal to you?

I think the 'big deal' is more that it seems there are a few people that cant seem to say anything nice at all about Lucas. its even getting to the point that they are bashing his earlier works, including the OT to a point.

I mean, your free to hate him, its not like I can stop you, but dont you think its kinda childish to keep casting stones at the man. I think its getting way out of hand and was going to actually post a thread about this. First off its counter productive (providing he actually reads or has someone keep him informed of this site and its going ons to begin with and it infuences him) but even if he doesnt, look at the point of this site and why it was made. its not about hating anything (PT/SE included) its purpose (correct me if im wrong Jay) was to show that there are people that want and care about the OOT and are trying to save it and people are coming here to bash the one man that can make that happen.
