Why not hire a woman director? A wonder woman…

not a bad idea to have a woman director.

Earlier in the thread I saw someone suggest Spielberg should do episode 9 instead of Colin and boy oh boy, that is literally now something I can’t get out of my head. It would have been such a good move on Disney. An undeniably amazing director who has a long history with both Lucas and Star Wars, who originally was going to end off the saga when it was just a trilogy and then he could end the real saga (or you might say, a trilogy of trilogies).

Yeah, but Spielberg always said “Star Wars is George’s baby,” and with the sale to Disney it would kind of be like dating his friend’s ex.

Didn’t Disney get their hands on Indy too? And I presume Spielberg is still going to direct the next film.

Where were you in '77?

Yeah but Indy is Spielberg’s baby. He’s gone on record stating he wouldn’t direct a Star Wars.

He did do some pre-visualization on Episode III though.

He should have pre-visualized how bad it was going to be.

George did also say back in 2012 that “the time has come to pass Star Wars to the next generation of filmmakers.”

I guess that didn’t stop Kennedy from at least asking Spielberg, which is what many people thought she was going to do anyway.

Disney needs to keep Trevorrow on a tight leash if they don’t want to make Episode IX the worst ever film in the franchise; based on his track record so far, he make Lucas look like Orson Welles.

At least Jar Jar Abrams was a competent director (even though he is a Spielberg clone), something Trevorrow is proving himself not to be.

No, he liked it while you were still posting the first time, then after you left he watched a video review and decided he didn’t like it any more.

Colin Trevorrow is still a very bad choice to direct a Star Wars film, unlike Abrams and Johnson.

lol.

and the thread title is a LIE

I suggest renaming this thread “Star Wars Episode IX to be directed by Colin Trevorrow somebody else”.

Trevorow fired because he wasn’t very good.

I’d like to see Cary Fukunaga have a shot. I loved loved loved his Jane Eyre.

And it took them two years to figure this out? People who suck at their jobs usually don’t last that long, unless they’re polticians. 😉
