I would love to have a copy of this. Aside from my laserdiscs and the adywan edits I have had to make do with dvd rips of the definitive edition.

Is this still a live project and are there torrents etc? I would not wish to pay an ebay scalper money for someone else’s time, love and effort.

I would also say having the larger disc as an option is great as I would not burn it, and instead play it direct as an image from my PC to the projector.

Are there links still valid for download?
I have come to this party a bit late, I know.

I don’t consider the 50GB to be redundant at all. It includes the bonus commentaries, which are indeed accessible via the menu, and has all the special features on the one disk, which is a great advantage to many people. For those who do not want the extras, you are welcome to download the movie only version.

The 8 track restriction is enforced by Encore, but through use of multiAVCHD, I was able to add 32 audio tracks to the disk. 8 are accessible through the menus (via menu buttons), and the others are accessible via the ‘audio’ button on your bluray remote.

Same goes for subtitles. the first 16 are accessible via the menu, and the remaining 16 are accessible via the subtitles button on your bluray remote.

EDIT: please see my updated post, which might help clarify for you exactly what is on each disk, then you can decide which one you think you want to download. I know a lot of people are looking forward to the 50GB, so I’m not sure why you are upset about it. The goal of the project was always to try and create the definitive Star Wars bluray disk, and for me, that is the one with everything on it. It’s certainly the one I’ll have on my shelf!

I agree with you that there is great merit in the 25GB versions, but they were purely created for this community, as I am all about the 50GB version. And it’s looking great 😃

That’s quite a run of posts.

So much time lost to ask questions instead of reading the previous topics where all the answers can be found …

As much as the 0.02% of people who have replied so far regarding Malefool’s “controversial” reply to the clearly-stated instructions on how to obtain such copies of the Star Wars Despecialized Editions Custom Blu-Ray Set created by username “njvc”, I clearly wasted my 1.5 minutes creating this awfully-worded post and does not provide any use to the subject thereof nor to the user/s involved in a minuscule issue.

Wow. Thanks for putting all of this together! Forgive me if this is obvious, but - how would I go about downloading these?

So if you go to the aforementioned sticky and invite thread, it seems that people are not able to give out MySpleen invites. So we are kind back to square one with how to get a copy outside of paying someone $175+ on eBay.

This custom set perhaps but not despecialized in general.

To be fair, the people in this thread are here for the custom bluray author NJVC did…

Hi NJVC

I’ve been enjoying the despecialized editions via .MKV file for the last several years, and when I saw your post I felt it was finally time to make the jump to putting together a blu-ray set. I’d love an invite/link to your custom bluray set if you’re up for it.

Watched your preview videos and love the full motion menu screens!

Cheers,

This thread should just be abandoned completely.

First let me say that I am not seeking anything. I have copies of the ISOs, but as per NJVC’s wishes, I will not be distributing them. I would like, however, to help if I can with the corner that this thread seems to have gotten itself backed into.

I would hope this thread could be salvaged, as NJVC put together something really cool and I think most of us would agree we’d like lots of people to be able to access those sets, so long as they aren’t bought or sold.

But right now the first post of this thread doesn’t give much help to those trying to acquire the projects. So what about adding a link to another thread or threads, where it would be appropriate to ask for help, in the first post?

I understand that the mushrooming bootleg issue has NJVC nervous. However, it seems like clamping down on the distribution of the ISO files will only really serve to drive people to those sales in greater numbers, since the genie is already out of the bottle. If people had a clearer place to get help, perhaps more would do so instead of buying $200 sets.

Maybe once there, they could ask for a little more help with how to find the sets as torrents, if NJVC is averse to them being available as file locker links. Plus they could do so without posting disruptive and repetitive requests. And after a few answers to FAQs are posted, users who take time to read instructions (theoretically) wouldn’t need to post at all.

As for people who ignore clearly posted protocol and/or are just out of line like the user that started calling names on page 54 of this thread, my only suggestion would be warnings and bans, as was suggested here.

The NJVC Custom Bluray Set of Harmy’s Despecialized Editions is available on Mega.

For the record, I contacted njvc before uploading to MEGA to make sure he was ok with us giving people the links. We restricted it to current members who had been active for a while to help allay the concerns.

I think the invite system is ridiculous. I put all my stuff on MEGA and no one needs an invite, all they need are the links.

I agree. I would only go on my myspleen to get the isos, so I won’t even ask for an invite. I do wish for Mega or Nyaa links though. Still good work though 😃

The links might be showing up on MEGA again soon. Emphasis on might however, so stay tuned.

I am so tuned right now. Thanks for all that you, NJVC, and the rest of the crew do here.

So…someone was kind enough to get me the ISO files of the BD50 versions of the films. I burned them last night. On my old, tired Samsung blu-ray player, everything works fine. However, on my main unit, which is a much newer Samsung UHD 4K blu-ray player, the menu just keeps looping on all three discs every time I try to click “play film.” If I go through the chapters and try to select a scene in any of the three movies, it just sends me back to the main menu. I’ve updated the firmware on my player and everything. Anyone have this problem too? Any suggestions?

Here’s to hoping the documentary discs make their way back onto Mega some day. 😃

I have a very old Sony Blu-ray player from about 10 years ago, and NJVC’s ISOs work fine on there when burned to disc. But I have a similar issue to you when trying to watch them on my PC with VLC. After “mounting” the ISOs as virtual discs in Windows 10, I can access the menus and extras etc. but the main films don’t play. In my case, the timer moves at about 10x speed when trying to play the film, but there is no video/audio. Has anyone got the ISOs to work in VLC?

Harmy’s mkv files work fine in VLC, however.
