Watching the movie tonight. I’ve decided that Ender’s Game remains one of my favorite books, Speaker for the Dead is an interesting philosophical follow-up that I prefer to think of as a sequel when I feel like it, but otherwise like to ignore. Otherwise, I am going to ignore the rest of the series. Ender’s Game established so many amazing ideas and interesting characters, which Orson Scott Card systematically destroyed with each successive book. The movie was such a disappointment in so many ways as well. I will remain extremely loyal to the first novel and its amazing hero, give limited appreciation to the second, and disown the rest of the franchise.
