Used to play Monopoly by the week. I remember I had a 6 consecutive-day game going with a friend of mine during spring break during high school once. It ended in controversy!!

I also used to play a lot of Trivia Pursuit: Genus Edition (I think Hawking would be clueless with some of those questions!!), Scrabble, and chess. Won my school chess championship one year, then kind of lost interest. Trying to get back into playing in tourneys again.

Trivial Pursuit (any edition, really), Monopoly, Scene It, and then some non-board games like Rummikub, Dominoes, Skip-Bo, and Uno.

I've always enjoyed Risk. I used to play Monopoly all the time, but I haven't played it in years now.

I haven't played a board game for quite some time.
I always enjoy Monopoly or Trivia Pursuit. I've honestly never played Risk (unless its just like .World Empire.)

My family has an abundance of old board games. Clue, Password, several Monopolys (Packers, Star Wars, Harley Davidson, 50th anniversary), old and new Life and some really obscure ones whose names I cannot even think of.

Heh, Risk is mostly just luck. You just have to get the right dice rolls. You could have the worst strategy in the world, but you'd still win aslong as you had good rolls.

The only board game I've played that's available internationally is Monopoly, and I never liked it much because it took too long and I sucked at it. As a kid I loved board games, I had lots of them... There was this place near home where you could leave your ID and take a board game with you, and return it for free after you played it, I used to go with some friends, we played every game there was...

Ohh I played Clue too. That's the one with the killers cards, and the weapons and the rooms, right? Colonel Mustard in the living room with a lightsaber was always my answer. Do you know they did a movie based on that board game, with 3 different endings?

Nice to see another Clue fan around here, most people that I know of despise it or cast it away as another crappy 80s movie.

Oh indeed it is! Thats why Axis & Allies exists...because with it the rolls only matter for so much.

Risk played with A&A rules coincidently is rather grand & fair.

I don't agree that Risk is all in the rolls of the dice. My friend has the worst rolls for the most part yet always wins because his strategy is flawless. The man never loses.

That movie's good for the babe value alone...that maid was HOT!!

Anyone ever play "Video Clue"? It came out around 89-90. There was vcr tape you played and the game centered around events in the movie. That was cool, too.

A game that my brother found that is really fun is called Settlers of Cataan. He brought it with him when our family was together at Christmas. I had never heard of it before, but had it so figured out that I beat everyone by the fourth game.

In college, I played Axis and Allies with some friends. I got beaten pretty badly the first time. Then I got my own strategy and got better. We started playing one Friday afternoon and we were still playing at 4 o'clock the next morning. No one had made any progress at all, so we quit and there was never any mention of playing it again.

Another great game is Beyond Balderdash. It's fun to play with a group, especially when some people aren't taking to completely serious and write down funny answers.

Lol, I was going to try to read this whole thread, but I got hung up. You're right, Hawking would do bad at Trivial Pursuit, any edition. He is a super genius, not a book of random facts Lol. Ken Jennings on the other hand....him & that other guy that beat him on the 2 Million dollar game.

I never played the board game version, but there was a pc version for Win95 that was REALLY cool. Not too deep, nice animations and solid gameplay. That one caught me for days on end.
