Hollywood, led by Disney’s twin brands Marvel and Lucasfilm, is undoing the last vestiges of the 1970s auteur theory that shifted the power of filmmaking to directors, and bringing back the 1930s studio system.

And it couldn’t have happened without Star Wars. Without a doubt, this will be the most shameful aspect of George Lucas’ legacy.
