Although it’s true that about the reasons why they weren’t wookiees, the fact about their design remains true that their design was deliberately altered to make them look like Teddy Bears. Their original design was more vicious, but george wanted to sell toys (where the real money is made). Originally they didn;t even have the head-dress, so looked exactly like Teddy bears. The head dress was only added during production because they had to cut a hole in the back of the head for cooling purposes. He also refused to have Han killed off because “no one wants to buy a toy of a dead character”
Actually Ewoks are too girly, and Star Wars fans are mostly boys.

Because thats what needs to be proved for that theory. Or quote George Lucas saying it. Only thing I found is that he said he wanted them cuddly. That is just not enough to prove anything.

Pretty sure that marketing idea came after creating the Ewoks.
And on a personal note, I think only Wicket is cuddly, and that baby Ewok, the others are really not.
But I had enough of Ewoks, it has already gone way beyond what it should have.
I still stand for Ewoks not to be deleted though.

I do not trust Disney anymore. First they made a terribly bad, than a mediocre movie, so they are 0 for 2 right now. Im afraid a cool Disney Star Wars movie is unrealistic expectation at this point.
Why anyone cares about ‘Canon’? It is a Disney business move to make more money, and has nothing to do with what Star Wars is or should be.

Plus the canon thing was a Lucas marketing tool to make money, in place LONG before the Disney buy out. Personally i’m loving the new Star Wars films so far. Heads and tales above the crap PT.
Facts are that
- Lucasfilm has indeed created Canon. More like a catalog not as a money making tool
- Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012
- Canon was cut mostly to the original 6 films plus The Clone Wars by Disney in 2014. Basically to have a clean slate, to be able to make more money.
