If you show a pile of some bloodied Imperial armor, (or could just look like the helmets were smashed in) in a cutaway as they’re getting ready to cook Luke and company, that establishes that the Ewoks can be mean little buggers in large numbers. Han could be looking at it before he says “I got a bad feeling about this.”
