Hey Tobar, can you write me a novel? It can be about whatever you want, but you have to write it for free and then only after you’ve written it will I decide if I’ll actually read it or not.

Bad analogy. Reading a novel is a very different activity than changing an avatar. I viewed the avatar and decided that I didn’t like it. In your situation, I would try to read the book and decide if I liked it or not.

Ok Warbler.

The details in an analogy matter. They can change what you mean entirely, since analogies are these fickle, fragile things.

The equivalent to your analogy would be if I didn’t look at his avatar at all. Obviously, that would be disrespectful. But somehow, I’m obliged to like the avatar and use it. Tell me, if Tobar wrote that novel for you and you didn’t like it, would you still approve it?

I’m also not ruling out the possibility of me coming back to the table and working on another that would satisfy me. You don’t get it right the first time. That’s the creative process.

YOU MAY HAVE MISSED THIS BUT YOU DIDN’T HIRE AN ARCHITECT.

We can still apply principles used at larger scales to situations at smaller scales. This is a creative process with iteration, just as building a building would be.
