Obi-Wan met an adult Anakin and seeing that he was a great pilot and strong with the force, trains him against the wishes of the Jedi, possibly even in secret without the Jedi knowing. Obviously Owen didn't think the same as Anakin. Anakin must have had some ideals about making the universe a better place by winning the war (probably the Clone Wars) and left to join the fight. Owen, of course, didn't agree with this and told Anakin to stay out of it. The part about the navigator on the spice freighter is some lie Owen told Luke to cover up Anakin's past so that Luke wouldn't run off either.
Do any of you agree with this line of thinking?
that was exactly what my interpretation was of the events of the PT had been since I first saw Jedi. And would certainly be more believable than what Lucas did with the PT. Obiwan would have to train Anakin in secret. Why in the name of god would the Jedi council appoint Obiwan, a person who just became a Jedi Knight himself, the job of training anyone? But not just anyone, but someone who might be "the chosen one". That is like giving somone who just graduated highschool, a teaching position in a highschool. I would think that someone would have to obtain the level of Jedi Master before he would legally be allowed to train jedi.
