McCallum did say there was substantially more to the Wookiee subplot that was ultimately cut because it did not advance the central plot and because the movie was running quite long. I imagine, as is usually the case with Lucas' deleted scenes, that they would have actually helped the plot and would have made the Kashyyyk scenes seem less of fan-boy gratification. I suppose me might see on the DVD release, assuming these scenes get included in the supplements. After all, has anybody complained that at 148 minutes, the movie ran too long?
