And now there’s a website?!?

https://ldsentertainment.com/

a quick whois will likely show a few details - I imagine the hosts’ terms and conditions may be violated by this person(s) selling stuff like this… (and GoDaddy may not like to feel the wrath of Disney/Lucasfilm getting in contact) - and then handing over files to help ascertain just who is behind it…)

Looks like they registered through DomainsByProxy to keep their information hidden. I wonder why they think they would want to keep themselves hidden… \s

Should we start a dedicated thread for this sort of thing instead of polluting this one?

A whole section would be more appropriate for this.

Damn it, don’t they know I’ve got better Arabic subtitles in the works? Have they no shame?

Lmao, there should be a large scale crusade against these people, any way I can help I will certainly do.

Well, it is Dubai so I’m not sure how much they will care. But also, I know a couple of lawyers in Dubai. They might be able to do something. If they feel like it.

You sound like Saul Goodman lol. I feel like the big mouse needs to get the message already, people want an unaltered cut of Star Wars and are willing to break the law for it, hell i’d pay double what they are charging for the Complete Saga just for the original Star Wars officially in 4k.

Hello to all on the Original trilogy forums. I’m a new member, but an old follower. I would first like to thank Harmy for creating this project. In turn you are bringing many star wars fans together in the process.

Quick question if anyone could help me. I had downloaded DeEd v2.5, ESB 2.0 and ROTJ 1.0 years ago on my old PC (using the torrent method). I have since gotten a new PC, and am considering doing either the Uloz or multi .rar method (as detailed in TUIG) this time around to update my DeEd collection.

I was wondering if anyone on this thread is using either of these methods, and if so what was your experience with them? (i.e. were there any problems you had encountered doing it this way, did you use the exact programs as said in TUIG, etc.).

Welcome to the forum OGSpark!

I had no trouble with the downloads other than the time it took because of their size.

I did run into some errors trying to extract them using the Peazip program described in the latest version of TUIG. If that happens to you, you can try using the JDownloader 2 program that used to be in TUIG 4.0 for its extraction function as well as it’s downloading function. That worked for me. Here’s a link to a piece of that older version of TUIG, which has clean links to JDownloader 2:

Also, tehparadox doesn’t seem to work anymore, but at least for now, you can still find lists of the file download links you’ll need here:

By the way, even though a Manual Download method is available, I personally still recommend the Multipart method. Since the files are in smaller pieces, there’s less ground to make up if one of them glitches right before it can finish downloading. But that is just my own opinion. Both methods do work.

Good luck!

Yeah, tehparadox is done. I’ve read that the owner mysteriously packed up and called it quits. None of the other mods apparently knew who he was or anything. So that’s that.

Hmmm. That’s too bad. Is there any discussion or consensus about where Harmy should now house the “official” links? HanDuet’s guide works, but that seems like it was only ever meant to be supplemental.

My suggestion would be that they should be posted on another forum or cloud storage that requires a free account to be set up to view them.

That way they are still easily available to the general Official Trilogy owning community, but not TOO easily available.

No one wants to poke this mouse.

Tehparadox going down also threw me for a loop.

We experimented once before with some key users getting a download link via PM and then having them all seeding a torrent as a means of handling the high demands of initial distribution. There was some technical fiasco and it didn’t work well at all. Doesn’t mean it’s not worth another shot, but maybe someone would need to document a “you must do it exactly like this” set of instructions to avoid issues. In theory, it seemed like a pretty good idea. Maybe worth another go.

It seems that an initial distribution using magnet links and relying on dht could work?

I don’t know much about torrenting, and I believe Harmy also was (and perhaps still is) unable to do it. If enough technically-minded people agree, and Harmy thinks it’d work, that might be fine. Then again, maybe Harmy already has a Plan B.

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

But in all seriousness, I really hope there will continue to be file locker links maintained. I am sure there are many like me that just don’t like the idea of using their computer’s resources to seed torrents, and also those who might be OK with the idea but who would have difficulty with the technical side of it. For them (or rather, us) direct links work much better even if they are way slower. But with tehparadox gone, the question becomes where to keep them.

Adywan’s distribution system seems to work pretty well - I haven’t seen much complaining from people not being able to get ESB:R.

Mega has a much easier learning curve than torrents and by using Facebook he’s bypassing all the requests for invites.

Verified I was able to find the links without a Facebook account, so that seems good. I guess the only question is whether or not direct linking might theoretically run afoul of Facebook’s terms of service.

Harmy did a pretty good job removing the rock from R2D2 😄

Wow, I just noticed something I personally hadn’t before about the SE (I don’t view it any more than I have to, and got sucked into a clip of Kenobi showing up in SW embedded in some article I was reading), right after Ben says “Hello there” to R2, in the following shot of R2 they totally forgot to add shadowing on him from the stupid rocks… And then the shadowing is back, darker than ever, the very next shot of him… Add in that crazy “Obi-Wan getting a hummer in a back alley of Mos Eisley” yell (my favorite description I’ve heard of it), the whole scene is just bottomless insanity.
