My post was more of a "thank God you didn't or I would..." sort of thing. And I probably would.
What could possibly be the point of a Mary Kate and Ashley video game?
Does Resident Evil still keeps that old formula, "find key - open door - kill zombie - move statue - open door - find key - go back - open door - kill big zombie"?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
To a large extent, no it doesn't, Ric. There are still some key-finding and puzzle-solving elements, but they take backseat to the shot-gun action and brilliant bossfights. The gameplay no longer uses fixed camera angles, but rather an over-the-shoulder view. You still have to turn before you can move in a direction, but it is no longer as confusing as the camera isn't jumping around. You aim by holding a shoulder button (R for your guns and grenades, L for your knife) and you get a laser sight with every gun to aim.
Also, all the guns can be upgraded and such, and new one's can be bought from an Aussie merchant. If you speak Spanish, you have an advantage as all the villagers shout at you in Spanish before attacking. They say things like "DE TRAS DE TI, IMBECIL" or "TE VOY A MATAR"
(If you have surround sound this is especially helpful.)
It's also as intense as all-get-out. Just when you think you should get a breather, a fifty foot tall "El Gigante" knocks down a door and attacks you. And don't get me started on the screams you'll have with the Regenerators. Those are Grade-A villain design.

Hideo Kojima is directing it? Again? He said he wouldn't work on another Metal Gear game, and he was convinced to do the previous game, and now this one? He surely has a hard time making up his mind...

Apparently now that he has established his own subdivision of Konami, which has taken alot of the workload and requires him to work less with the company itself and more on his art, he is willing to do it (and a slew of other games from the looks of it).
Hey, I'm not complaining. MGS3 was excellent.
Did anyone catch that "Alan Smithee" reference in the MGS4 trailer?
I'll hold my opinion of MSG4 til when it comes out. I'm more interested in the new Zelda game coming out for the GC. Looks sweet from the screen shots and all.
